The Eagle Returns: A Community Gathering

April 12 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

For many years, the eagle perched on the roof of our Gibsons studio—watching over the space, the land, and the community that has gathered here. Over time, the eagle’s wing was broken and its body began to rot, signaling that it was time to come down and be cared for.

With immense generosity, skill, and love, our friend and longtime student, Derek Hunter, took the eagle into his hands and heart. Through careful restoration, patience, and devotion, Derek repaired the broken wing and renewed the body, honoring the spirit of the eagle and what it represents. Thanks to his care, the eagle is ready to return—and to fly again.

We invite you to join us as we welcome the eagle back to the roof in a meaningful community celebration.

The afternoon will include:

  • Setting wishes and intentions for the future, which we’ll tie onto our maple tree
  • An outdoor fire gathering as the eagle is raised
  • A potluck to share food and connection
  • Kirtan and song inside the studio to close the day together

This is a free community event, open to all.
Families and children are warmly welcome.

Come as you are. Bring a dish to share if you can, a wish for what’s ahead, and your voice or presence for song. Let’s mark this moment together—with gratitude, renewal, and joy—as the eagle returns to its place above us all.
